Hubert Robert — The Portico of a Country Mansion (1773)

Painted in 1773 by the French artist Hubert Robert, whose loose, sketch-like handling drew Diderot's famous complaint at the Salon that Robert never seemed to finish a canvas. A ruined classical portico beside a fountain and a tall tree, staffage figures gathered on the steps below. Robert playfully signed it as executed in "PARISIORUM," the ancient Roman name for Paris. Held today by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and released into the public domain.

Set onto the wallet from the museum's own open-access file, the vertical composition carried across the face.

Vegan leather MagSafe wallet. Holds two cards, black or white.
